    Summary:

  • In 1993 Chemstore was founded as a chemical storage equipment manufacturer. We have since grown into market-leading experts of environmental services and complete safety storage systems. Chemstore are proud to be associated with only the highest quality ranges of products and have developed specialist professional services that are widely used across the UK, Ireland and Worldwide. In response to our partner’s requirements to meet ever stricter legal and safety requirements, Chemstore have developed a complete range of safety services and training programmes which can also be tailored to suit any site or process specific requirements. Chemstore training courses allow persons of responsibility (key managers or directors) to comply with all relevant legislative and Best Practice developments including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. Specialised Training * Chemical Hazard Awareness Training * Spill Response Training * Laboratory Safety Training * Hanling & Storage of Highly Flammable Materials Training * COSHH Risk Assessor (BSC) Training * Handling & Storage of Hazardous & Corrosive Substances Training * Customised Site Specific Training * Hazardous Materials Consultancy * Hydrofluoric Acid Training The following three courses outline the most commonly requested areas of expertise: - Hazardous Chemical Awareness Training The following outlines the structure of our programme designed, at a practical level, to give employees knowledge and understanding of chemical identification and awareness: - Core Modules * Recognition of the different types of chemicals * Chemical effects and dangers * Safe handling of chemicals * Signage, symbols and identification of chemicals * Procedures and Best Practice for chemical spills and accidents Course Objectives * Importance of handling chemicals safely * Best Practice, Legal requirements and guidance * Knowledge of chemical signage, identification and symbols * Hot Spot identification on your site Spill Response Training Vital components for employee safety when dealing with chemical spills are the knowledge and confidence to act safely and effectively in a potentially hazardous situation. Chemstore offer the following module to achieve these goals at a practical / operator and management level. Core Modules * The benefits of safe spill management * Preparation of a spill site * Response to a spill * Clean-up of spill Course objectives include: * Legal requirements * Ability to review the efficacy of a spill response procedure * Develop practical skills in chemical spill response * Achieve a level of understanding to remain safe within a spillage situation Personal Protective Equipment Training Many companies install PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), but several leave their employees dangerously exposed to the hazards on site by failing to provide adequate training in how to use the equipment properly. This is clearly in breach of the Safety & Health at Work Act 2005 and therefore leaves key managers and directors potentially personally liable in the event of an accident. Chemstore offer the following training session to cover the use of PPE for any personnel who may have to deal with hazardous materials or chemicals on site: - Core Modules * Commonly used PPE * Control of Hazards * Employee & management responsibilities * Safety tips & general information Course Objectives * PPE and its importance in the workplace * Using PPE as a hazard control method and its limitations * Importance of maintaining and inspecting PPE * Selection of PPE and its use * PPE – legal requirements
